Psalm 69

Save me, God.

I cry out to you.

I lift my hands in distress,

The water has risen up to my neck.

I’m sinking-

Drowning in my own tears,

My eyes fail, looking for my God,

Answer me quickly!

I am consumed with zeal

For your holy temple,

I seek you, my Savior,

I chase after your heart, oh God,

To the world I have become a stranger-

I am a foreigner in my own land,

But I will take heart,

For you hear my prayer.

Oh God, you do not despise your children

Who are prisoners.

Answer me, Lord,

For your faithful love is good;

In keeping with your great compassion,

Turn to me.

In keeping with your faithfulness,

Hear me

And in keeping with your abundant mercy,

Rescue me.
