Weakness and the POWER that comes with it.
One of the most beautiful verses in my opinion is written by Paul in 2nd Corinthians
2nd Corinthians 12 : 9-10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
In my opinion hands down one of the most beautiful verses in the entire New Testament. It just goes to show the power of God and how He works in the midst of weakness.
I wrote a while back a sermon regarding Joseph and his awesome story and how God truly worked miracles through him. I don’t plan to go over the entire story again but if you would like to read it please feel free to go back to it.
That story in context is a great example of how Gods power really works. He took a situation that seemed like it was completely over and that Joseph had absolutely no way to survive. He was on the brink of death in a hole when his brothers sold him as a slave to some merchants. Long story short he becomes 2nd in command in all of EGYPT.
That escalated quickly, like come on. IS THAT NOT ONLY THE POWER OF GOD. There is no way any human alive could have achieved that on his own. Especially in that time period. That is a great example of what can happen when God shows up.
I challenge you to memorize this verse.
Here are some questions to ask yourself throughout your day tomorrow.
- What areas do I feel weak in?
- How can I surrender those things to God.
- Why would someone want to boast in their weakness?
Here are some steps to take this week.
- Memorize 2nd Corinthians 12:9-10
- Surrender to Gods awesome plan.
- Boast in your weakness and know that Gods power is made stronger in your weakness.
