Thought of the Week
“It’s not enough to just feel the flame, you have to burn yourself away!”
I was just listening to a song called HARDLOVE, by NEEDTOBREATH, and this single line in the song stuck out to me like a sore thumb.
Romans 12:1-2 So brothers and sisters, since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to him, which is the spiritual way for you to worship. 2 Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.
I think a lot of the time as Christians we sit next to the campfire and feed off the flame of God, and that is NOT what He has called you to do in your life. I cannot sit here and tell you what God has called each and every person to do, but I do know that He has called us all to live a life that is all for Him and nothing else. I think it is important to examine areas in our life, where we are just sitting next to the campfire, and feed on that flame. We need to be consumed by the fire and allow it to work miracles in our life for the kingdom of God.
“You don’t give Your heart in pieces”
God does not give His heart in pieces, He grants us all of it, so graciously. Therefore, we need to be willing to do the same.
