Thought of the Week
Thought of the Week
This week I have been continually reminded how no matter bad I mess up or how guilty I feel for sinning; Christ is always there. This week for me has been wrapped in grace and Gods love for me. He constantly reminded me that it’s nothing I did to gain my salvation, but through Jesus Christ I am now perfect in his eyes, and he loves me.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us[b] for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,” Ephesians 1:1-7
This week take the time to dwell on this set of verses because this is the God who saved you. He looked at you before time ever even began and chose you to be holy and blameless. He saw your failures and how ugly your sin would be… but still, he chose you. He brought you into his family and now you are blameless, spotless, and beautifully perfect in his eyes. So when you sin, stumble, or simply don’t fight temptation don’t get down on yourself. Look to the cross, look to Jesus. He knew exactly who he was giving his life for and because of him you now have grace. We have been forgiven and we are truly, truly LOVED! This week don’t forget what you were bought into. Don’t forget that God chose and predestined you to be his beloved. Fight the good fight keep pressing forward, and continue to lean on God and his miraculous grace.
Lord thank you so much for your cross. Thank you so much for who you are and for choosing my mess and my sin and making me holy and blameless. There will never be a thing I can do to repay you, so I will continue to praise your name. All praise and glory be to you Jesus. -Amen
