Faith… Not Sight | Bayli Webb

2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we live by faith, not by sight.”

In this life, we walk through a dark forest of evil blind to what is in front of us. But the Bible can be our light to show us the way of our path (Psalm 119:105) now Jesus helps us to see right in two ways; first He opens our eyes to see and believe who He is and what He has done for us (Acts 9:5, 26:18) second He helps us “walk by faith, not be sight” faith is the perceiving, the conviction that there are more real and reliable things than we can see with our eyes. Faith trusts promises over perceptions, His promises are WAY more trustworthy than what we can naturally put together. With all this being said we desperately need to fix our lenses in order to see the “precious and very great promises (2 Peter 1:4) of God — the scriptures”. Also be in prayer! God wants us to seek His guidance in prayer (James 1:5) He provides us with mentors, wise leaders and He’s given us the example of Jesus Himself. “The Bible! How precious it is! It is better than all the gold in the world (Psalm 19:11). The Bible points us to a promised future when we will see with far more glory with far more clarity. For we will see Jesus, the Lamp of heaven (Revelation 21:23), face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12)” -Jon Bloom. Dig and look into Gods active and living word!! I pray as you look through them today your eyes will be enlighten and “that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe” (Ephesians 1:18–19).”
